DOT vs ECE beam pattern

Here are a few pictures to show the difference between DOT and ECE beam pattern. DOT is the American standard, ECE is the European standard. Our projectors have DOT beam patterns.

There are no legal issues to install DOT beam Bi-xenon projectors in your headlight in the Netherlands. We are going to find out if it may be a problem in other country’s in Europe.

  1. Any news regarding other countries? E.g. Sweden, where I live? Already bought the Mini H1 but just wanted to check if you know already =)

  2. Dear sirs,

Would you check the legal issues for LATVIA as well?
    Pavels

    1. Sorry we don’t check all the regulations of each country as those regulations tend to change regularly.
Any questions, please send us an e-mail!

  3. Hi in Denmark we have ece cutoff and the dot cut is nok legal here

    1. In Europe, DOT cutoff is also allowed. If you import a car from the US for example, you don’t need to replace the headlights.

      1. My BMW E39 that was originally sold in Sweden has DOT-cutoff from the factory!

        1. Thanks for the info :-)!

  4. Hi
Can you tell me if these are available for both LHD and RHD vehicles? I need to shift the pattern for a UK car
    Thanks

    1. On most projectors, we have both LHD and RHD patterns available, yes!

  5. Is there any difference in aiming of ECE and DOT?
I have an old Bosch headlight aiming device and this is meant for ECE.
But is the center of ECE and DOT the same so i could still use it when converting to DOT?
